Cathy Batten, RDH
Cathy has been a dental hygienist for eight years, six of which she has worked for our practice. She is especially gifted when it comes to patient education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 1999 from West Liberty State College. There she was awarded the Comprehensive Patient Care Award. Kathy and her husband, Scott, have a 4-year-old daughter. She enjoys scrap booking, piano, exercise, and exploring the world with her daughter.
What Cathy loves about our office: “We continue to strive for excellence and we are always learning. By teaching my patients good oral hygiene, I not only enhance their smile, but influence their overall health.”
Kelley Krawzik, RDH
Kelley has worked with our practice since graduating from Old Dominion University, Summa Cu Laude, in 2004. Our patients love her gentleness and thoughtfulness. While in school, she was award the Virginia Dental Hygiene Association’s Student Award and held membership in Alpha Eta.
What Kelley loves about our office: “I love the way each member of our staff provides the best care for every patient – both clinically and ethically. Every patient is treated with the utmost respect.”
Pam Fike, RDH
Pam joined us a year ago in 2006 after graduating from Allegany College of Maryland with an Associate’s Degree of applied science in dental hygiene. This is a second career for Pam as she also taught elementary school for many years. Her ability to work with children is simply amazing and carries over to her interactions with the children in the dental office. Pam and her husband, Jeff, have two sons. She loves biking, walking and drawing.
What Pam loves about our office: “I love the opportunities I am given to grow as an employee and perform my duties. Both Dr. Mac and Dr. Ange are wonderful teachers and I value the time I have to observe them and learn new things every day.”
Jane Herring – Office Manager and New Patient Coordinator
Jane has worked in several businesses, but five years ago she joined our office and brought her warm, Southern Hospitality personality and a wealth of experience and talent with her. She and her husband, John, enjoy spending time with their 4-year-old son. She also likes to read, work in her flower gardens, take care of her four dogs, and go on outings with the family.
What Jane loves about our office: “I love talking to prospective patients about our doctors and staff. They make my job so easy because I know they are committed to making our patient’s visits convenient and as comfortable as possible. Our staff members are happy, friendly, and outgoing. They treat our patients like family. Our doctors are wonderful professionals.”
Janitza Rivera – Production Manager and Scheduling Coordinator
Janitiza comes to us from Puerto Rico, which helps explain her love for salsa dancing! She has responsibility over the doctor’s schedule and does an incredible job of making sure everyone is properly scheduled for their restorative care. She shares her life with family, friends, and two cats. In her spare time, she can be found playing volleyball, water basketball, cooking, or spending times with friends. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys being able to help our Hispanic patients fully understand their treatment.
What Janitza loves about our office: “I love the wonderful people I work with. They are awesome!!! We work very close and get along so well. I couldn’t ask for a better team to work with. We all care about each other like we care about our own family. We have a great time at the office while we are working hard on our patients. I like how the doctors attend different Continuing Education to further their abilities to work with our patients. I know exactly what kind of care our patients are receiving and I am very proud to be working for their practice. They are very gentle and caring doctors.”
Kathy Rimel – Financial Manager and Hygiene Coordinator
Kathy joined the office 2 ½ years ago and does an incredible job of keeping four hygiene schedules running full and smooth. She has a son, a cat, and lots of family in the area. After work, you can find Kathy at her son’s basketball games, shooting ball with him, watching North Carolina Tar Heels basketball on TV (do you gather that she loves basketball?) or working with her salt water aquarium.
What Kathy loves about our office: “I love the people I work with; it’s like having an extended family. I love knowing the doctors I work for are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients and believing 100% in what they do. I love meeting new people and getting to know our patients. I enjoy being able to help our patients overcome any financial obstacles.”
Erica Arenas – Dr. McIntyre’s Dental Assistant
Erica is from Mexico and has worked in the office for 5 years. Erica is our Head Clinical Assistant and keeps everything running smoothly. She and her husband, Chuy, have two children. She enjoys playing soccer, camping and spending time with the family.
What Erica loves about our office: “My boss! And My Patients!”
Ashley Zimmerman – Dr. McIntyre’s Dental Assistant
Ashley recently joined the practice and we all enjoy her warm, cheerful personality. She and her husband, Andrew, are celebrating their first anniversary. They enjoy working in their garden, fishing, swimming, camping, and spending time with their families.
What Ashley loves about our office: “I love how everyone works together so well. I love knowing that I am helping the patient by improving their dental health, which helps improve their self-esteem. I love how every one works so well together. We all only do that which is best for our patients.”
Sara Hall – Dr Angelopulos’ Dental Assistant
Sara came to us six years ago from the restaurant business and she brought her wonderful customer service skills with her. She and her husband, Brian, have five children. She enjoys hiking, spending time with the family and fixing up their house.
What Sara loves about our office: “I love our caring doctors who are concerned for the patient’s well being and want the best treatment options for our patients. They are constantly seeking more knowledge so they can provide even better care. I love the hands-on work and being able to learn new things all the time. I especially enjoy establishing relationships with my patients.”
Joanie Will – Dr. Angleopulos’ Dental Assistant
Joanie joined our staff just 4 months ago. She is eager to learn and willing to jump right in and do everything that is asked of her. When she’s not at work, Joanie enjoys activities with her family, gardening, swimming, fishing, camping and boating.
What Joanie loves about our office: “I love the people I work with – they are awesome! I love the variety of my job. Everyday is different with new patients and different procedures. I am constantly learning something new each day.”
Nathalia Rodriquez – Hygiene Assistant
We were lucky to “steal” Nathalia from a local department store about 2 ½ years ago. She is excellent with the patients and works closely with the New Patient Exams. Nathalia and her husband, Alfredo, are from Uruguay. She enjoys time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling, and photography.
What Nathalia loves about our office: “I love how we have doctors that only want the best for our patients. They are always seeking more knowledge to take better care of our patients. I love that we work as a team and everybody knows what needs to be done and helps each other and we all try to do our best and improve each day.”
